Our caterpillars are changing

It has been so exciting to watch our caterpillars grow and change! Using the magnifying loupes helped us see parts on the caterpillar we normally wouldn't be able to observe.  Here is what we saw...

On Thursday we noticed some of them hanging in a "J".  This is the sign that a big change was going to happen. 

Sure enough, Friday morning we saw our first chrysalis!

 How many days until we will have our first butterfly?
Here are a few student observations.  I am so proud of the thinking and observing these 2nd grade scientists are doing!
